Retirement & Farewell Parties in New York City: photography & video
A retirement party marks the end of a career that may have lasted decades, and it brings together colleagues, former team members, family and friends who rarely share a room. MacroSnaps photographers and videographers cover retirement and farewell parties hosted by companies, departments and families, from an office send-off to a restaurant dinner or banquet hall celebration.
New York City is one of the largest cities in North America, home to roughly 8.2 million people. We cover retirement party events at hotel ballrooms, museums and event venues across the area, from The Plaza Hotel, American Museum of Natural History and Cipriani 42nd Street to private homes, restaurants and community halls. New York's calendar is driven by finance, media, fashion and tech, with major trade shows at the Javits Center and a steady run of galas, product launches and hotel-ballroom weddings across all five boroughs. Spring and fall bring the best outdoor light and the busiest booking season, while permits and crowd timing matter for shoots at landmark parks and bridges.
The heart of these events is the tributes: speeches from managers and colleagues, stories from family, the slideshow of photos from earlier years and the retiree's own words at the end. We make sure those moments are covered, along with group photos with each team and generation of colleagues, and candid photos of people reconnecting. Tell us who should be in the gallery and we'll find them.
For a typical retirement party, clients in New York City book about 3 hours of photography ($450) and 2 hours of videography ($500). Photography is $250 for the first hour and $100 for each additional hour; videography is $300 for the first hour and $200 for each additional hour, with a 2-hour minimum. The first-hour price includes travel, so New York City costs the same as anywhere else we work, and there are no quotes to wait for.
