Prom and school dances are some of the most photographed nights of high school, and schools, PTAs and parent committees often want a professional record of the whole event. MacroSnaps photographers and videographers cover proms, homecoming and formal dances, from the grand march and arrivals to group photos with friends, a portrait station and candids on the dance floor.

Chicago is one of the largest cities in North America, home to roughly 2.7 million people. Whether your prom or school dance is at The Field Museum, Art Institute of Chicago or a family home, your MacroSnaps crew arrives early to check light, angles and any venue rules.

Because we are photographing students, we work with school staff from the start. We agree with your coordinator on where we will be, what will be photographed and how the gallery will be shared, and we follow your school's media and consent policies, including students who should not be photographed. Our coverage stays friendly and appropriate, and staff remain in charge of the event throughout.

For a typical prom or school dance, clients in Chicago book about 4 hours of photography ($550) and 3 hours of videography ($700). Photography is $250 for the first hour and $100 for each additional hour; videography is $300 for the first hour and $200 for each additional hour, with a 2-hour minimum. The first-hour price includes travel, so Chicago costs the same as anywhere else we work, and there are no quotes to wait for.
